zaman.comTurkey's National Security Council (MGK) General Secretary Yigit Alpogan has stated that Turkey would not be happy to have a neighbor with nuclear weapons, but added that they were in favor of a diplomatic solution to the Iranian problem.
MGK General Secretary Alpogan made his remarks in the Russian capital Moscow, where he is currently visiting on official business.
Referring to Iran's nuclear ambitions, Alpogan said that he does not believe Iranian nuclear weapons would promote either world peace or regional stability.
Alpogan asserted that Turkey has always got into trouble over issues that didn't directly concern it. "We didn't participate in the first Iraq War, yet we lost 50 billion dollars. In addition, in the second Iraq War, the PKK moved to Northern Iraq and began to threaten our security. "
